Hey folks so I got the new Red Sea Max S500 and the assembly was amazing. Everything went well together except one thing which I will discuss in a bit. Thatguy08, make sure you tell the delivery man to put the tank in your garage or something. Its a big crate, just o-en it all up and sort the boxes. Empty out the tank itself of extra boxes.make sure you get 4 strong people for a good safety factor as the tank glass weighs about 265 pounds itself. Make sure you explain to them before hand where and how to lace the tank as well as wa;k them through what obstacles are on the way to the stand. Ok so Installation was cool. But one thing I found SUPER tacky was the length of the wires provided by power brick for the LEDS.:headwallblue: They were super short. I feel that the power brick should end up at the power center or somewhere under the cabinet in s well ventilated area and not just hanging on the bank of the tank. It seemed to me the LED aspect was not well thought of in design si ce it's not documented on where ton-lace the power bricks.I called RedSea and they said to attach and tape it to the rear of the tank which I strongly disagree since salt water can spill and creep into the wire connectors causing potential fire. I have filed a safety complaint with United States product safety commission on this issue. I have also contacted AI and suggested a fix/recall. Other than that the tank is a beautiful setup just make sure all your hose clamps and seals are secured. I always use Vaseline on connections where o-rings are involved.
