Red Sea Silicone failing?

I recently bought a used red sea system. I have no idea how old it, but im gonna guess about 5-6 years max. I attached the serial number for any wizards that are able to find out the exact date of production.

Now the tank has been running fine for about a month now and i havent used the algae magnet since. Until yesterday. Thats when i first used it. Now i noticed that along the silicone seams, they seem damaged. My gut says ïf i can scrape it with the algae magnet, it is probably just some leftover, but better to be safe than sorry.

So here my question: should I be worried or is it fine?

It does tend to peel when scraped. Generally nothing to worry about, but I never figured out a way to clean those areas well without dipping my hand in the tank to gently rub it off with my finger or an old (soft bristled!) toothbrush. If it really starts to come off in chunks, of course that's a problem.

If i could give out rewards you would get the "quickest reply" one!

Thank you!

That looks to be normal wear and tear of the extra little bit on the glass. I can’t help with the serial number, but you could probably email Red Sea tech support here - Tech Support inquiry - Red Sea to find out more info about your specific tank
