As far as I know. I got it used like 3 years ago and never set it up. I believe it may have had the turbo upgrade but I don't know what that entails. I thought that was on the pump end. Is that correct?
From what I can see the 9.5 is really driving the venturi and that's why I am seeing good results.
I believe skimmers are a fairly simple device with only 3 basic components for success.
1) amount of bubbles
2) bubble size
3) bubble/water contact time
In the newer designs like asm and ER the only real improvement is the pump. Needle wheel increases the amount of bubbles and the large cylinders allow for increased water input and contact time in the chamber.
I would like to try a small needle wheel on the red sea and see what happens. No reason this wouldn't drastically improve the foam production. I have an old Top Fathom 200 that this would work on as well.
