Red thing inside cynarina

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with some sort of a red tube structure inside of a cynarina, or any other lps. Everyone's first reaction would be to say it's a vermitid snail growing on the outside of the coral when I try to describe it, but this thing looks less rigid and is coming out of the inside of the coral. I have never seen a mucus net or a fan or any thing else sticking out of the tube. I've had the coral for a while now and didn't notice the tube during quarantine. The coral seems to have an opening into it's tissue around the tube when closed up for the night (middle picture) but otherwise appears healthy and expands daily and eats like normal.

tube worm? I have a few tube worms that attached to the hard shell of some of my corals and the corals just grew around them.
