I'm having some redish/brown slime show up on a few corals,it looks like cyano but is a little more brown and has air bubbles in it .Any ideas as to what it is and how to get rid of it,the corals don't respond to it very well at all.

raise your ph and don't scrape your glass. Gonna have to let it run its course a bit.
You can cut down your lights a bit but shouldn't make much difference.

I had an outbreak 6 weeks ago.

I had an outbreak 6 weeks ago.

It seemed to run it's course. What are your Nitrate and Phosphate levels?

To get rid of it I siphoned off as much as possible every few days including vacuuming it and the sand it was attached to.

Slowly raised the PH with Seachem PH Buffer http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ140146745564QQcmdZViewItem

Skimmed heavily

replaced/cleaned the filter sock every day

I have several bunches of halmidia and it seemed to build up on hte dead parts of those plants, even killing some of it. I vacuumed that heavily and used a turkey baster to blow off the detritus then when the water cleared, changed out the filter sock.

Not sure if its related but I picked up a small horseshoe crab to keep the sand churned up too. In a short period it is all but gone. I see a bubble now and then on dead or dieing plants but the sand, rocks and power heads are all clear.

Hope that helps.
