Redoing the Rockwork

After going through the Sandy aftermath, the corals are showing new signs of life finally. I have not been happy with my rockwork for a long time and now I am thinking of rearranging parts of it. I want to leave the center part of it intact and just move around some rocks on both sides. Can someone share the do's and don'ts?

I have few corals (sps & lps) that are medium sized colonies. I want to leave them on the rock they are on. The remaining smaller colonies, I want to take it apart and then reglue them once the rock rework is complete. Can I temporarily house these corals in the sump with a powerhead running in it? I expect the entire work to be completed in one day.

I may also take some rocks out and drill them and put them back in the water. Should I be concerned about a mini cycle?

It is a 180 gallon tank and I have pretty large size fish in it. I want to leave the fish in the tank as I do the work. The water return from sump would be cutoff during this time and I plan to leave a MP40 at low speeds and a heater running in the tank while i move the rocks around. I don't intend to touch the sandbed however some disturbance is inevitable as I take the rocks out.

Is there anything else that I am forgetting? any help is highly appreciated.
