Reef-A-Palooza

So Reef-a-palooza is happening in my hometown of Orlando this weekend and I will be going on the Sunday. I wanted to know what are some of the things that I should look for to take advantage of at one of these conventions? What I mean is, what products/fish/corals typically can be found at better prices at a convention than a normal LFS or online retailer?

Hopefully some people can chime in that have been to one of these types of conventions!

I will be going Saturday and this will be my first time at the event. Cash at the door for tickets or go online and buy them in advance.

I know there will be some rare pieces and cool fish but to what extent I cant say. I know I will enjoy myself with all the cool stuff!

I am hoping to get at least one really neat piece.

I have been every year the past few years it been in Orlando and I am going tomorrow.... very excited :). Its pretty much an event for frags, not usually many fish but tons of frags. this is always the best place to get some really nice coral for great price. I wait for this every year to pick up some ultra stuff for a fraction of the LFS price.

Saturday morning is the time to find those hard to get/rare corals, Sunday afternoon is the time to find the great bargains. Check out the raffles, they should have some great prizes.

now that I think about it.... there is nothing good there, Everyone should skip and stay home :)
I see what you did there [emoji6]

I'm going Sunday with the anticipation of finding those awesome deals. I just started my SPS tank and want name brand corals but not super high end like Jason Fox or Cornbred. Hoping to come home with a nice ball of dragons breath, some copapod/amphipod packs, and a few decent SPS starter frags!

Does anyone know if the dry goods vendors have deals? I see EcoTech will be there and I'm wondering if an MP10QD would be any cheaper buying at the event.

I'm not sure if EcoTech will be directly selling products from their booth, but I imagine Dirks' will have some EcoTech products for sale.

I am also excited for tomorrow. Never been to one of these events before, so I'm very excited. Hopefully I will find some really good pieces!!

I have been to RAP in the OC here in Ca for many years, same people putting it on there as well. Sundays are good for frags but not buy 1 get 10 free, dry goods are sometimes are hard to get more, vendors showing there wares than selling them but there is a lot of stuff.
