just wondering if there was a website for photography like rc is for reef tanks. i know about P.O.T.N., fred miranda, and better photo. just wondering if there was anything else
 
Photo.net is one of the oldest, but I left there ages ago. Too political.

FredMiranda is great, just stay away from the gear forums. Those are sooooo boring, and full of trolls. The macro forum on FredMiranda is full of talents.

Fortunately I have an address from my university... apparently that is credible enough for them.


I guess I could see this being a problem for some people, but there must be some free web-based email service which FM accepts?
 
I am an oldie on FM, signed up years ago and we were allowed Gmail addresses back then. I go under the username "dejavu" on that forum.

You can use your ISP email? It's not like FM spams your account or anything.
 
I used to spend a lot of time on photo.net, as well. I found it to be a great learning tool. If nothing else, it was awesome for seeing others photos, and learning how they made them. Maybe I was just lucky enough not to get caught in the politics, or maybe they heated up after I was a regular.
 
You can contact almost any ISP to host an email account for you. Most of them charge 5-10$/mo for the service.
