Hi all,

Just received my new skimmer and had a question. There were not any instructions at all in the box. Wondering if this is normal?

Also, it came with 2 hoses. One is a little longer than the other and I am not sure which one to use for the air? One hose is clear and rigid while the other hose is a little more flexible and cloudy looking.

Perhaps one could be used to drain the skimmer cup? Not too sure. Any help would be appreciated.

My octo didn't come with instructions either. The silicon-type hose is for the airline, and the larger one is for the drain cup.

cloudy one is for air there instructions suck newayz get em at premium aquatics

You may want to replace the cloudy one with a stiffer hose it kinks easier reducing airflow

+1 one using the stiffer one on pump. The cloudy one will kink and cut off air intake.

Thanks for the tip on the air hose. I noticed its 'kinkability' as I was setting things up. Anyone know the size of that hose or if a home depot type place would carry one that fits. Would any clear tubing work? It always seems like they make them wacky sizes so they are hard to replace. Anyone know what size hose they used to replace it?

I received the 200 last week and havn't the foggiest idea how to set it up. I followed the diagram but if there is an equipment that needs a operation manual it's the protein skimmers.
I sent an e-mail to Coral Vue & hope to get a reply. Jim

I can't remember the size, just cut a piece off of your hose and take it with you.

These skimmers are cake to setup. Should have an A and a B, and the tee goes in the middle.

Opps, I just read my post. HAHA
I meant to say "If" you can't remember the size, cut a peice of your hose and take it the HD or Lowes with you. But now that I am home I just looked on mine and it is 3/8 ID and 1/2 OD.

Thanks for the measurements of your hosing. I wonder if my Octo 160 would be the same or if the Octo 200 is bigger.
