Reef Optix 3 vs. Hamilton Reefstar

The two cost almost the same when everything is said and done so...... which do you guys think is better? Sunlight Supply 250 watt HQI ballast with a Reef Optix III pendant or a Hamilton 250 watt HQI Reefstar Pendant system (comes with a ballast)?

Not even close. The ROIII. One pendant has a computer generated optimized reflector. The other has a lined box.

Thanks guys, thats the way I am leaning right now. It will be a while but I just want to know now so when i'm ready I will get the right one.

If you are waiting you might want to wait and see the testing on the new Lumenmax 2/3, which is SLS new pendant. It may provide better spread and still good absolute light levels, albeit it's larger than the ROIII so if space is a concern....

The LM3 is for DE MH. The availability is "soon". I dunno the formal testing results

I just want to know the real world difference between them and the ROIII if compared side by side with same ballast/bulb.

If it is worth dumping my ROIII, then I will.
