Reef Or Fowlr

i have yet to buy a tank but just weighing the options of FOWLR or a reef tank.

the question i have this time is - can an anemone and clownfish go into a FOWLR tank? also can soft corals be int he same tank as a FOWLR? i think with this being my first marine tank i think i may want to play around with this set up before getting into the reef. i just wanna see what types of "reef" fish can live in FOWLR tanks or is it a bad idea all around?

do i have a lot of "fish" options with a FOWLR tank? (lets say my tank will be anywhere from 100-150 gallon.) would i have a better selection of fish with a REEF setup?

well with corals and anemone's in a FOWLR youd have to consider your filtartion and lighting options as you were having a reef tank.

no bio balls
need a skimmer that can handle the bioload of all those fish
STRONG T5s or a halide set up

be sure to budget all that in
remember your tank ( entire setup ) will cost you about 40 dollars a gallon.

make wise purchases and check craigslist / local paper for used deals. easy to pick up a high power / modded skimmer from someone getting outta the hobby for a hundred bux instead of 400..

my 2 cents

If you go FOWLR the selection is pretty colourfull. All the angels and their nice colour included. You don't need much of light for them unless you really want to go with clows and anemones.
