Still working on the final planning stages of my tank while it cycles. I'd really like to keep an anemone or two. I have been told, however, that anemones need a tank pretty much designed with them in mind. My question is what do I have to do to make my tank anemone friendly, or is it even possible? It's going to be FOWLR for a few months before I start adding corals. I plan on keeping some LPS and Zoo's.

A FOWLR doesn't really need the lights that a mixed reef requires and anenomes move if they aren't happy. Depending on which type of anenome you go with they can leave a trail of destruction in your tank if you have other corals. First let your tank get established (age) before you add an anenome. Make sure you have the proper lights (metal halides, t-5). Let the anenome find a good spot and see if it stays there, then you can start adding the other corals. Hope this helps. Others can chime in. Also get an BTA, better if you can get one that has split off of another hobbiest IMO.

To even consider getting an anemone, you must have the proper lighting and a tank that has been up and running for about 10 months.
