Still trying to decide on fish list for my new 100g and would like to add a coral beauty and a flame angel? any experience with the two together? Also have read mixed feelings on reef safe or not-is one better than the other? Thanks Jo

Glad to hear it. I only have a 10gal quarantine tank so I will have to add one at a time. Which one do I add first?

I keep both in my 65g, they get along just fine. I'd add the CB first, they tend to be a little more mild-mannered than flames.

Here are my little guys, excuse the flash:

I had both together in the past in an SPS tank. They did not bother each other but I never had any polyp extension on my SPS because they were always nipping at the polyps. They never did any major damage just poor polyp extension. I was more into the coral at the time so I got rid of the fish. Now I'm more into the fish and wish I had them back. Guess that's why alot of people have more than one tank.

I have read that if you plan to add two of the dwarfs, you should do it at the same time. I see them at the LFS together, so maybe you could try both in your 10 gal. QT at the same time. If they start to fight then put a divider in or maybe that would be an early indicator that they won't be good together. I don't know if I'd put either in first, since it may esablish itself and not allow the other to do so. This is just an opinion, as I haven't had two, only 1 dwarf at a time. HTH

good picture-do the coral beauties all turn that blue? what are the age of your fish?

Not sure how old they are, but I've only had them a few months. The CB is ~2.5" long, the flame a little under 2". Like most of my fish, they're just little guys with loads of growing to do :)
My CB is darker than most I've seen. CBs seem to vary a lot in colour; I've been told this pattern is common in fish from the Marshall Islands area, whereas those from the Indo-Pacific are much more orange.
