Reef Safe Medications

I recently had a bad break out of Ich and then Velvet 3 seperate times and it almost wiped out my entire fish collection.

1st I used: Kick Ick. Followed the Instructions and no positive changes in the symptoms. Fish still had spots of ick and developed white film. Lost Yellow Tang and Flame Angel, two of my strongest and oldest fish in the tank. I had these fish for over a year and a half.

2nd I used Polylab Medic. It seemed to control the Velvet but the Ich kept coming back. I lost 2 False Percula clowns, one yellow tailed Damsel and Powder Blue, and Copperband Butterfly.

Waited about a month to see if the break out subsided. The only thing left in my tank was one Yellow tailed damsel and Six Line Wrasse. They showed no symptoms of disease.

I then added 2 False Percula clowns, while controling the disease with Polylab. Only showed a few spots. That seem to show up on and off. I added a Flame Angel. The ich seemed to show up and subside with daily treatment of Polylab Medic but it kept showing up again. But the Velvet never showed up again.

3rd I switched medication to Chem Marin. All signs of disease disappeared within a week of medication. I then added a new Copperband and Racoon Butterfly, and they've shown no disease within the last 3 weeks. I would have to say that Chem Marin is a great reef safe product, from my personal experience with the nightmare of trying to medicate without a quarantine tank.

But hey my goal was to treat the disease within the reef environment and I finalyy found a good treatment. Thanks to Chem Marin, my confidence in keeping marine aquarium continues.
