reefers in york pa area

Well, I don't have a reef yet, but certainly intend to. I am also interested in finding some local folk in the hobby. Anyone else? I haven't heard of any local clubs other than MD ones.

There isn't any reef clubs in york, pa. I know that there are several reefers in the area. I would definitely like to put something together. Bobby

come and meet other reefers from Pa and your area..

I'm a newbie reefer in Stewartstown. I've had a 29 gallon reef set up since September, and loved it so much I just tore down my 125 gallon African cichlid tank to turn it into a reef. So now it sit's empty, while I scour the internet an lfs's for new equipment! :)

LFS's

LFS's

There is lfs in Lancaster called ThatPetPlace. They have just about everything you could ever want for a salt tank.
They are off the Centerville exit just south of Rt 30 on the left heading south. If you are east or west bound on 30 you will make a left at the end of the either ramp.
They are also one of the sponsors for this site

Been there many times. I usually get 'hardware' there, if I don't get it online. There livestock is fairly low priced, but sometimes the quality isn't up-to-snuff.

I totally agree on the livestock. Some of them look like they took quite a beating getting there. (or after arriving)??? Too many kids, too many hands in the tanks. I usally stop there on my home from work to pick supplies myself. I do like that you can test the bulbs before walking out the door.
Are there any good lfs in your neck of the woods down there?

The best place for livestock I've found it Exotic Aquatics:

http://www.exoticaquatics.com

Just north of 495 (the beltway). There's a map on the website. A bit more expensive than other places, but the livestock is always high quality. Sometimes worth a little bit more, IMO.

You mean "695" baltimore beltway. (495 is DC beltway) Anyway I did go to exotic aquatics a few weeks ago and was impressed with their livestock. They had fairly much and everything looked great, except a couple little regal tangs in two tanks that were side by side looked like they had ich. They didn't have much equipment selection. Since I work not far from them I definitely expect to buy livestock there.

Oops, yep, 695. And you're correct, not much hardware selection, and what they have is high-priced. That's why I get my equipment either off the internet, or at That Fish Place.

I love that big 400 gallon reef they've got set up in the front window, very impressive.
