Reeflink will not connect to internet

I'm trying to setup my reeflink device, but cannot get it to connect to internet.

It has never worked... I used the setup application to use ethernet connection and wait in Ecosmart live but the connection is never confirmed.

Same problem wired or wireless... both networks are fine as I'm using the same cable to post this.

What gives...

Droog,

It sounds as though the ReefLink may need to be reset and firmware updated. I would recommend following the steps below:

1. Power down the ReefLink
2. Sign into EcoSmart Live using either Google Chrome or Safari
3. Select the “Settings” button then “Manage ReefLinks”
4. Click the ReefLink icon then “Remove” and “Yes”
5. Connect via USB only to your computer
6. Open the ReefLink setup Application
7. Select “Format SD” from the dropdown menu
8. The ReefLink LED ring will turn white once complete
9. Select “Factory Reset” from the drop down
10. Finally select "Firmware update" and "Use Latest"
11. Select the “Setup” button to re-configure your ReefLink

In the end I setup using the WXM module on the Apex controller and used Apex Fusion instead. Its working well and doesn't have these teething issues.

Just another update on this. I'm using the Apex with WXM to control the Vortech pumps, and am very happy with how this works. The Apex <> Vortech integration is very nicely done.

Much easier to adjust patterns and experiment with flow that it is with the manual interface. In fact I'd like to see Vortech's offered without the manual controller at a lower price point for customers planning to use controllers. I might even add an MP10 to elimate dead spots.

The Apex + WXM mode doesn't seem to have a light acclimation mode, and given that I have the reeflink device already, I'll follow this procedure and use the Reeflink to do the acclimation from T5 -> LED.

Once the acclimation is complete, I'll choose one system or the other. Seems easy enough to tell the Radion's which controller to take its instructions from.
