Lighting
I have mine under 4x39w T5's and they seem to do best for me under High light. Under low light they stretch and the polyps can get over an 1" long. Under halides they can develop that nice, bright, metallic look.

Flow
These seem to like high flow so that they are wiggling just a little bit. Under low flow they can develop that purple stuff that covers the polyps and can slowly melt away.

Growth Rate
These grow moderately fast. I grew mine from 4 polyps from 2 different sources and went from PC's to T5's. Under T5's the grow rate increased exponentially.

Polyp Size

Most polyps are about dime sized.

Other Interesting Information
These polyps can be confused with aog's, armageddons, pink zoot suits, you name it. There are a lot of similiar polyps. Even within my colony I have two different kinds. I think a good general description would be any polyp with a grey skirt, and pink face with a bacardi bat looking thing in the center. Can you see the bat in my picture?

Any input/experiences with this polyp would be appreciated by me and the rest of RC.

Very easy palys to grow and maintain.

These are pretty easy to grow though, they do well just about anywhere in my tank. However, for some reason I can't keep AOG's. This is my 3rd try, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Someone needs to make a reference guide for those.

My AOG's look horrible, they lost their colors and always look like they're about to melt. I guess they are just more finicky than the devil's amor.

i found these to grow pretty fast and the higher up i had them the more the green came out and the skirts turned almost silver..started min from 1 polyp and fragged them a few times and the others i fragged out are all doing great..i found they liked higher flow as well and if kept in lower flow the seemed to not grow as well...had mine about 8 inhes from the light right under 150w 14ks

I think....what you have are Everlasting Gobstoppers. They would make a good reference guide subject too.;)

Please take no offense. I 100% agree with you that the names mean nothing in terms of the value of polyps but they do provide us an easier way to picture what everyone's talking about. I can't help but notice your screen name so I presume you know something about wrasse. For me, christmas wrasse and melanurus wrasse are pretty much the same thing. In fact, they are closely related and pretty much have the same care requirements. However, I'd be glad if somebody corrected me if I referred to a melanurus wrasse as a christmas wrasse ESPECIALLY in such a thread as "reference guide for christmas wrasse" since I don't have a trained eye for wrasses. My intention was merely to clarify what color pattern devil's armors represent and the green mouth isn't something supposed to be seen on devil's armors. Perhaps my previous post came out the wrong way but I think it's necessary to make the reference guide for devil's armor true to itself.
