Reflow external pump

Okay I have a question I have a reflow external pump that I noticed stopped working last night because there was no flow coming from the front of my tank. I'm not sure if it stopped that night or the night before I turned off the switch because I noticed that the pump itself was very hot. This morning I took the pump off line and took off the front where the the wheel spins and moves the water I cleaned it and the housing itself before I put the housing back on I checked to see if it would turn on and it was running just fine. I actually checked it before I cleaned it and it turned on as well. So my question is why do you think it stopped working to begin with? Is there a way that air can some how get in the line and cause an issue like that or something? I'm just wondering if anyone has experience this at all. :hmm3: I put it back on line and it's working fine

if it overheated it has a shut off breaker internal that will shut it off till it cools down and then it will restart. is it inside a confined area?

It has a thermal overload on it to protect it. if it gets to hot it will shut off. sounds like maybe it lost suction and pulled in some air and cavitated. I would make sure it is not leaking around the shaft if so the seals are shot (happens when they run dry). If it did run dry then all the heat it was generating went right to the motor. Just my 2 cents

the model number is JF2K024N
It seems to be working fine now and I am going to get a small fan to put in the bottom where its at to try to blow some cool air in there.
I have two of them small fans built in the wall but one is not working so I'll probably replace it as well my chiller is right beside it and it can get pretty hot in there although the chiller don't come on that much given the fact that my house is an ice box
