My new tank cycling keeps getting delayed.. brand new Reeflo pump is leaking.. called the manufacturer to complain and he said they got a batch of "bad plastics" that they did not catch. FYI to anyone that's going to be ordering from them soon, but need some help:
- the chaeto. algae I have is sort of dead and lifeless. I had bought the tank from a guy, and the algae sat in a bucket for three weeks, and now it's been sitting in the refug. for a couple weeks (no power/storm) and then when the power came back, I had the new leaking pump issue. Does this stuff come back or should I buy new? and where's a good place to buy? What's another hardy type of plant(s) to add BTW? I've been keeping the light on 24/7 but it's dull green and not upright at all like it was.
- wave makers/wave boxes: which give you the wild swirling water you see sometimes? trying to understand my options. I have two powerheads on each end, but would like to upgrade. Love the waves made by the wave boxes I see. but can you get the same effect with a diff. setup?
