Would someone please explain the point and what a refugim actually is.

its a tank where pods and other good critters can reproduce without any preditors. People also use it to house macro alga that soak up nitrates.

it is a place where you control the growth of algae, the idea is the pods grow there, liek he said, its a smpot for sick fish/ hurt corals, the algae you put in there takes away nutrients/ nitrate export, and the algae grows in the fuge not the tank
