Ive finally got my tank happy and healthy now im thinking about building a 10-20 gal fuge behind my tank. Is there a way to partition it so i can put some of the stuff that is crammed into my sump, like my pump for my skimmer whatever my sump is way overcrowed and looks bad. Any ideas or help planning this thing out would be appreciated.

I would just add a fuge. (Like I just did)
Sumps are ment to be cramed and full of equipment, that's why we have them.
I would make just a pure fuge..

I added a 10G tank to the back of my tank.
I'm not sure a hang on will give you near enough fuge to combat nitrates and phosphates.

A good rule for fuges is 1/3 of tank volume
So my 30 needed a 10

More is always better, infact some people have bigger fuges than tanks IE: 50G tank 100G Fuge

ok did you build it? Is there a post on here on what you need to get one going i looked in the "do it yourself" forum

I just took a cheap 10G tank from Petsmart $10.00 and drilled the side, added a bulk head.

If you ever feel like stoping by come check it out. It did it with no moving parts, no pumps, no electricity.

It's pretty much fail safe. (As long as gravity continues it pull :) )

thanks guys thats awesome and Steve i might just do thati like your design need to fix up my electrical since all my cords are right where i would put it.

Is it possible to convert an existing wet/dry sump into a fuge? I have a TruVue one with bioballs in it atm. Like take out the bioballs add baffles and a devider ect? Or would it still be better to build one out of say a 10gal and leave the sump alone?
