refugium or skimmer?

My new tank is 35 gallon cube and only have space for either refugium or skimmer only due to space limitation. Which one is more important?

I don't if one is more important than the other but on a smaller tank like that I would recommend a refugium.

www.drsfostersmith.com has a HOB fuge/skimmer setup that has the best of both worlds. IMO it's best to have both, however if you have to choose I would go with the skimmer and then buy pods online to add to your live rock.

I'm not sure that will fit, I have a 2.5" euro brace on my tank.
