refugium question

I am going to make a external refugium and plump it to draw water in and out of my sump. my question is do you have to cycle a refugium? If so how long is a good estimate?

no you don't have to cycle a fuge as you are using the tank water

No need to cycle it unless you're adding uncured rock to it.

The flow through them should be slow <----is this correct?
