refugium question

What else shoul di have in my refugium i currently have a live sand bed, some live rock and a chaeto ball, and of course lighting. Should i have some snails or hermits or anything like that? what am i missing if anything? and what are the advantages?

Thats all you need to start out with. I wouldnt add any livestock unless you start having a problem with algae or something.
