Refugium substrate??

What is everyone putting in the bottom of there Fuge???
Rubble rock? Sand bed? Deep sand bed? Mud? Marinepure bio media ? Bare bottom?? What is everyone using and why?

I have mineral mud and wish I didn't. Not sure how I'm going to get it out of there someday without nuking the tank. I don't think I have a problem with it now and am not planning to remove it but someday.

If I had it to do over I would use a marine pure block.

Nothing in the bottom for me..I have let a good 1/2 thick layer or more of detritus build up over time...Its great foood for worms/pods,etc...

People use refugiums for a variety of purposes. Decide what you want it to do and what you don't want it to do, and that should inform your decision.
