refugium turnover rate

I'm setting up my 30gal refugium and I'm wondering what your refugium turnover rate is and what should be ideal. I appreciate any comments and advise.

I used to have about 3x turnover, and it was not good. Now it's about 20x and it's much healthier looking. My guess is 10x would be fine. Even adding a small powerhead is a great idea IMO.
