refugium with black mangrove seeds?

It will take about a year for the mangroves to become an effective filter..... Also, make sure tyou use a tank with no seams..... (ie. stock tank) Magrove roots have been known to pry through traditional tank seams and cause major leaks to your system after a period of time.....

I tried mangroves about a year ago.... it's fun but not worth the time, effort, and space needed to get this tp of filter to work..... On the other hand guys on this site have created beautiful Mangrove gardens that are a great addition to their systems.....

I guess it depends on your perspective and personal liking.....

Is the glass half empty or half full....... ? :D

Red mangroves are the best ones to use.keep in mind that they do need daily spraying of water to the leaves,as salt will build up on them.Of course it will be a while before they get there.I have had great success in the past with a mangrove refugium. It just takes a while for them to actually get big.It always seemed that mine grew faster when my water quality wasnt at its best.
