Refugium

Guys:
I have finally installed a refugium to my existing tank

150 Gals main display- refugium 3616, I have also plummed the tank with two closed loops,

#1 from overflow back to main tank using GN-X PCX 40 Max head 22' (6.8M) 3,000RPM

#2 from main tank to chiller back to tank, using GN-X PCX 30 Max head 14.5' 4.4M 3200RPM

#3 from Refugium to main tank GN-X PCX 40 Max head 22' (6.8M) 3,000RPM,

question I have currently, is should I put a smaller pump on the refugium. or will the PXC 40 provide the correct flow from and to the tank.
Also per some experts i need to have the refugium lights on 24hrs per day is that correct, I am thinking there is always night time some place, to the light on the refugium should be on only when the main tank lights are off.

is there any help on this out there, I want to make sure I have everthing running well.

some recommend 24/7 lighting in the fuge to avoid the macros from going sexual...and to give macros a leg up on the algaes you don't want in the display tank...it depends on what you've got in there, tho.

at the very least, doing a reverse photo period than your display tank to help keep PH levels balanced is a good idea.

if you've got a film of waterslime on the top of your fuge, or slime algae growing on the glass...you need more flow. if not, you're probably fine.
