refugium

I am building a refugium (after being guided by a few people to do so) and was wondering what should go into it as far as plants and where I can find some? Also was wondering if a 300gph pump would be right or if there is something better to use. The sump is a 20 gallon tank as is the refugium.

Sand, live rock and chaeto should into it. It should be well lit too. Some say to run the light 24 hours, others say to run it opposite of the cycle of the main tank.
