Refugiums for a TBS Tank?

I've had my TBS tank up and running for about a year now and just noticed some green hair algae growing in my overflow box. That got me thinking, is the green algae a bad thing? or could it be somewhat beneficial under the right circumstances?

So I was thinking would it be worth it to add a Refugium to my TBS tank? Thank-you

The algae generally will not grow unless their are sufficient nitrates. Usually this is from bioload and/or feeding. It is a good thing in that it is taking up the excess nutrients, but a bad thing in that it is an indicator of those tank conditions.
Hair algae is somewhat of a nuisance and is unnattractive so it is generally preferred to encourage uptake of excess nutrients by macro algae in the DT or in a fuge. In the DT, it can sometimes run rampant or clog overflows, so a lot of people keep macros in their fuge. I personally can't think of a reason not to add a fuge if you have the space.
