regarding ich and other fine parasites

So I introduceda powder blue into my tank about a month ago and now he is covered with ich and my other fellow inhibitants seem to gettting infected as well.

Catching the fish is impossible. I have a 140 gallon with a ton of live rock, caves, etc...

I could move all the rock out but I'm just not willing to do that.

I have just transfered all my corals into another tank. Now I just need to capture the shrimp and I will do the same thing.

Then the plan is to treat the display tank, it will essentially be a FOWLR.

So I use cupramine or hyposalinity on the DT? What are your thoughts?

From what I can tell I have both black and with ich. My powder blue seems to be covered with both. Will Hypo get rid of both black and white?

I'm starting to think that reefing must be a mental disorder. All this work, time, money and stress for what is supposed to be a hobby:)

Thanks!

Yes treat the DT with Cupramine. Have a good copper test that easy to read like Seachem's..

There is no way to kill ich in a tank that contains coral, or other inverts. . IMO, if you move the coral or inverts, hypo is 50-50, IMO. Cupramine is terrific; but using it in a tank with and substrate makes it almost impossible to adequately measure copper and this is vital. It is really your only option; but I'm much less skeptical about using Chloroquine Phosphate than I used to be and wouldn't hesitate to use it under your circumstances.

I guess I'll be the first to say it. Its too bad you didn't use a little of the the money you talked about to buy and use a QT. Also, it sounds like you waited a while to attack the ich; if so, this makes this process a whole lot tougher. The stress reliever you wanted could have been a reality if you used a QT regemen with all new fish.

So Ive spent the last 4 hours trying to get my shrimp into the net to no avail.

Im thinking of just adding the cupramine. Do the shrimp have any chance of survival? Or is this a death sentence?
