regular light bulb actinics??

Well I was up late last night after my clam tank in my room went out and my light was on and then a thought came, I should put in an actinic bulb in my light socket for my room, so the question comes, can you actually buy an actinic bulb that fits in your standard house light sockets? Would buying a blue bulb accomplish the same effect, am I just losing my mind?

Wow! Back to the days of black lights and posters. What a flash back man.
I bought a couple actinic T-5's that plug right into a wall socket. They are only like 14 watts, single bulb, not sure how they would do in a room, but they work well in my tank.

lol I was doing it to get some actinic for my clam tank because I tend to have the light on a lot, where did you get the ones you are talking about though.

i know you can get 50/50 PC bulbs that screw into a standard light socket.

I got them at Ocean Blue, in Winter Park, on Aloma Drive.
