Reinforcing a stand?

I have a older oceanic made 48x18 stand. The person I bought it from had a 75 gal on it. I was gonna get a 90 gal, think I should reinforce the stand? It appears really solid and has minimal water damage, I think it would work. Any thoughts or ideas on the subject? Thanks for any feedback

We would need some pictures or diagrams of the stand before we could make any kind of comment. "Appears Solid" does not mean much.
But keep in mind that in general, any company that makes stands will usually make them strong enough for the largest tank with that footprint.

I added 2 screws to the end of each vertical board in my stand. I wasn't thrilled with the staples keeping it all together. I didn't see the need to add any additional wood though.

i agree with theredben's statement that stands are built to hold the largest tank with their respective footprint. for example, i have a 40 breeder and would not get a new stand were i to switch to a 50 breeder, or 65.
