Relocating my GBTA

Alright, I have a GBTA in my current tank set up and it is very happy. I am setting up a new 65 gallon tank and will be transferring everything over. How should I do this with the GBTA? He has been attached to the same rock for 2 months now and I do not want to detach him, but I have some red slime that I wanted to wash off before putting my rocks into the new tank. I don't want to shake the rock with the GBTA on it. Also I waited 6 months before adding the GBTA to the original tank, and now I am starting this new one and will probably have another mini-cycle since I will be adding new rock. How will this effect the GBTA? All the water in the tank will be new.

Thanks

And, yes that is a Biocube with stock lighting and the Anemone loves it.

you should be able to do a gentle swoosh with the rock, dont get carried away tho. how deep is yur SB? also, i am really jealous of yur gbta, mine has bubble tips, but they look way cooler stringy

I recently had to detach and remove a GBTA from his rock and it was a real nightmare. I tried tickling his base, rubbing his base with an ice cube, etc. Nothing worked. So as he kept getting closer to some corals and the rock he was on was too big to move without tearing up my tank, I got pretty aggressive about it and ripped him off the rock. He looked terrible for a few days but to my surprise has now split into 3 healthy looking smaller anemones.

what about moving it to my new tank? How long should I wait with the new tank running before I can be confident that the GBTA will survive?

do you have a thick layer of substrate? if not just make sure you orient the rock the same way it was, up is up n so on. there will be a mini cycle, but it shudnt b to bad if you keep yur rock submerged
