Hi, I still have not been able to figure out how to configure my computer for remote access to the Profilux. If I am at work what web address do I type in to access it? What do I do on my home computer to allow that to happen?
Thanks
I am not really good at this one, my friend help me to set this up.
But i can tell you what i do from my work.
Start--accessories--communication--remote desktop
then i type my routher Ip address and i see my home computer.
To do this way, home computer should be on and profilux exe. should be on too. You have to set up your routher so he will redirect to you computer,,, Sorry if i am not so clear..Not my specialty ..
There are different ways to access the ProfiLux controller from any location.
1. Remote desktop like Mike described above. Here you access your PC at home over Microsoft remote desktop from another PC. The PC at home is remote controlled and can be operated as you would sit in front of it. Disadvantage: Your PC at home must be switched on.
2. Direct access of (W)LAN-card:
- ProfiLuxControl must be installed on your PC at work
- configure your router that incoming TCP-requests on port 10001 are redirected to the ProfiLux (therefore you must know the IP of the ProfiLux, that means the operational mode "automatic IP-address" is not recommended)
- enter the IP-address or DNS of your home (not of ProfiLux!) in the connection settings of ProfiLuxControl
