removing GBTA from rock

I would like to remove a GBTA from the live rock that it is attached to in order to give to a friend. Is there a safe way to do this without hurting the anemone.

I have had good luck using a turkey baster to blast the base away from the rock. It is tricky though good luck!

I use the back of my thump nail and just slowly work it under the edge of the foot. Take your time so as not to damage it.

Another method I have had success with is to hold the rock so the anemone is on the bottom and hanging. Then tap the rock with a hammer close to the anemone and the vibration will make it release. It may take about two mintues.

I have heard the hammer trick works well and doesnt leave the potential to hurt the foot.

Take your time. Be carfeul not to damage any part of it, especially the foot. I also heard that if you point a powerhead at the foot, it will release its grip.
