if u really want to get rid of them just give them away or sell them. its the fastest stress free way to get rid of them. take them to ur LFS for store credit. thats what i do when they start taking over. i just put some live rock that i have in my backyard thats been OUT OF WATER for about a year and place it in my sump after i toothbrush it and soak it in fresh water and then saltwter then to the sump so it can get all types of critters from my gracileria. then after a week or two the coraline sarts growing like crazy and into the main tank it goes.
Good luck gettin rid of these. I have the hairy mushrooms. One was getting next to a new torch and another stung my Duncan. I tried to remove them and could not. I tried to scrape them off with a knife. They say cut them off at the base but how do you do this when it is in rock crevises. To make a long story short, the one near the torch that I shredded with a knife is healing and growing again in just a couple days. I don't think you can kill them. They are agressive and sting LPS and SPS corals.
