Removing scratches on glass?

Is it possible to remove scratches on glass?

yes, kind a... I had some scatches on the inside of my new tank. A rep from the LFS where I got the tank from, cam out with a drill and a glass compound and grinded away for few hours. If you look closely the scratches are still there but not as noticable. I was told that if you pollish too much you can score the glass or discolor it from the heat caused by buffing.

It also depends how deep the scratches are.
