Removing Scratches

I recently bought a tank from a fellow reefer. The tank is starphire glass and has a scratch on the front pane of glass. The thing is the scratch is on the outside of the aquarium. Any advice on how to get scratches out of starphire glass?

Don't think there is much you can do about it but have that one pane replaced. If that's worth it.

There are kits that you can buy to do it, but it's a bit of a pain. And some of these are useless. You might try contacting some local glass shops, some of them are equipped to do it, but if it's a deep scratch it can distort the viewing panel.

pending on what it looks like with water in it. I would leave it alone. Some scratches seem less noticeable with water in the tank. That being said I think the only other options have been said.

Once repaired, the optics in the glass will always be distorted. Better to live with the scratch.
