DOH!- thats not too encouraging.... anyone else feeling a little more positive ;)
i dont want to take it off in pieces- but it looks as if its gonna happen that way

Anyone know which chemical eats silicone? If you can find something it should make it easier. Although, that chemical will probably attack the trim too.

Can't remember where I read it but someone on this site contacted AGA and was able to buy the trim piece directly from them for like $15.00 maybe you could try that route, and just hack off the old one...

I am trying the same with no luck. If you figure it out let me know. One side of my 75 Gal was broken too and I am trying to fix it but need to remove the trim first. I already cut my self few times :(.

I just finished removing the top and bottom trip from a 75. I used a long razor knife between the glass and the plastic frame, going over the entire area several times. I then pulled the trim slightly away from the glass and up, working a few inches at a time around the tank. It wasn't easy but it did come off without breaking.
