I joined the competition so that I would get the tank back to its glory days. I took most of the corals out and put them in the 300 which I eventually took down. I sold the corals thinking I would take both tanks down, but just couldn’t do it. Wished I could find a picture of it before the corals came out.
My tank might be going thru a mid-life crisis, but you guys and gals have nothing on me. :lmao
180 glass aquarium. This tank has been running since 1999. I have had salt water tanks since 1979. First corals were bought in 1996 when we moved here.
Custom made acrylic sump is 48” x 15” x 16”. I keep the water level at 8” which is 41 gallons.
Sump light is an AI Nano Sol LED with controller.
Skimmer is an AquaC EV240 with waste collector and mag drive 14 or16?
Little Giant pump 1100 gph at a 5’ head
3 Radion Pros
2 x Tunze 6100.10
2 x Hydor Koralia (6?)
Have 1 Jebao WP60 and will be getting another one soon. I would like to use these to replace the tunzes or both the tunzes and koralias.
Automatic top off with ro/di.
2 x 100 gallon tanks. One for salt mixing and the other for the ro/di. Mag drives in both.
Will be putting the calcium reactor with CO2 and kalkwasser back on after the sump is redone.
I have a bunch of frags hanging in the tank. Things would break off and I never really posted them for sale. I am now finally doing that. I looks bad.
I don’t have a set schedule for anything. I do water changes of about 50 gallons when I get around to it which could be every 2 - 4 months.
I rarely test the water or dose.
I make my own water with Instant Ocean.
Automatic feeder with pellets and I also make my own fish food.
I plan on redoing my rock work so that is why most of my corals are not attached. I will use some of the rock from the 300 and buy some branching tonga. I will have to seed it first in a container before I redo it. I am also slowly taking out my sand and will be replacing it with the corapet sand that was in the 300.
Mike made the tiki looking stand to fit in with the decor in the bar room. There was a hood with synthetic thatch on it, but we took it off when the lights were changed. Have to rework the hood or do something with the way the lights are put up. I hate it.
