Renewing Miracle Mud - how often ?

Hi, I'm a UK (england) based reefer running a Miracle Mud ecosystem (which still isn't that common over here).

What is the current thinking on how often you should change some of your mud. I know what is recommended but has anyone experience of not changing any, or whether your tank flourished after a change?

My system is fish and soft corals/mushrooms/zoo's/gorgonians.

My mud isn't old enough to change (10 months.) If all else fails, then go with the manufacturers suggestion as they have the most experience with it. Sure they could be just trying to sell you more product, but at the rate they suggest, it doesn't seem to be all that much.
