replacing mud in 7 year old refugium?

Hello,
i bought a CPRS small refugium from a LFS that had been on their display tank for 7 years! I asked the owner if I should replace the mud! He hasnt touched it in 7 years! So basically it is mud topped with rubble and chaelo! I have miracle mud on the way!

I also have a CPRS medium with light on the way!

so I guess:
1. Should I replace the old mud, or leave it alone?
2. should I go ahead and set up the new medium up too, or just use 1!

55 gallon salt, 3 months old, set up with live rock! Currently have some soft corals, a few starter inverts, and 4 fish, damsel, chromis, 2 clowns! I also have a reef cleaner pack coming from liveaquaria tomorrow!

Thanks,
Just kind of afraid to mess in that old mud and release something!

You ordered mud and media for it and now want to know whether to replace it? Personally, I'd clean it out and restart so I didn't inherit any problems, but it's really up to you.

Jeff
