So I looking for a tank to replace the red sea it developed a pin hole leak that barely leaks. I have 2 options find a new tank but I don't know how the wife will react. I guess once it's here there is no turning back lol. Option 2 is to reseal tank. So I'm calling those who have resealed a tank. How hard was it? I'm a gazier and work with glass everyday not sure how that matters but I caulk almost everyday. Would it be any different since its curved edge glass? Also and recommendations on silicon. I'm looking at rtv. Thanks guys.

I've used the RTV Black;

there is more involved if a tank seal breaks, so its like sealing a window but needs a cleaner start,

two ways to look at it - rebuild the tank or reseal the tank. if you're sure the silicone holding the glass together is good then you just need it resealed,

Use brand new razor blades to get that old seal out.check a few times to be sure the old silicone is completely out - its not as simple even with newest blade - lots of elbow grease it is

wipe clean with rubbing alcohol or similar to get the glass clean before working on new seal,
