return pump question

so my return pump on my 8 gallon oceanic biocube went out and i was wondering if i could put a maxi-jet 600 in there for the return or will that be too much flow for the little tank? also will the pump sit in there properly i would measure it but i am not currently in the country to measure please help me out thanks!

You can do anything you put your mind too - you can make it work. Might need to modify it somewhat but there is always a way.

IMO I really don't like MJ's, look into an Eheim Compact instead. Same price but much better and quieter pump.

If you have an old MJ lying around, they're bullet-proof in continuous-operation applications such as that IMOPE. The new ones are junk. Whether or not 160gph (20x) is too much flow depends on what you have for livestock, and what other sources of flow you have.
