Return Pump stress

Is it too stressful on a return pump to automatically turn off once a day for a feeding cycle? I have generic pump from Harbor Freight and it has been going strong for 2 years now but, I have never had it turn on and off a lot like this.

It should be fine. I turn mine off along with powerheads,skimmer,CR when I feed so the food doesnt get sucked down into my filter sock.

I would assume it was cheap enough to replace if it did effect it poorly but electricly speaking it isn't harder on it only your wallet.
