RFC - Plumbing size

Hello,
First post to the ole' Reef Central. I've been working on my new setup off and on now. Never done salt before, but have 4+years with freshwater. I'm taking my time working on this project, and I have no problem reconfiguring the whole thing if it means I'll have a better environment for my reef/fish.

I have a Mak4 pump (as seen in the picture), all nice and running with 3/4 ID vinyl tubing.

I've done some testing with a 5 gallon bucket and it seems i'm only running about 600GPH off of the pump. The pump at 0', I believe is around 1190GPH.

Does size matter in this instance? Am I restricting the abilities of this pump by using 3/4 ID tubing and fittings?

There is nothing in the tank except water, I've already drained/filled several times due to configuration changes.

I haven't found any topic very specific to the inlet/outlet pipe sizing. Thanks in advance.
