I have fed it twice now, it will recover.

I have a sea fan on the decline as well so I hope you non-photosynthetic coral guys can help me out. Here is a pic.

Only a few of the sea fan polyps open. I have been feeding a lot of phytoplankton recently though and it looks slightly better. Do you have any suggestions? By the way here is a picture of the sweeper tentacles from the rhizotrochus for further ID:

You can try feeding it phyto, rotifers, and other small planktonic foods. It looks like most of the skeleton is exposed, so it may be too late to save it.

Its Blueberry, its in bad condition but it should recover, mine was opening only 5 polyps when i got it, and after 2 weeks of feeding 3 times par day is opening like 30-40 polyps.
Blueberry is very 'moody' aboute water flow, so you must find the best place for her in tank.
If you gonna treat her right it will 'skin over' very fast.

Heavy flow or light flow? Any more specific advice on the sea fan is greatly appreciated. So do you all think the rhizotrochus is in fact a rhizotrochus? I am quite positive it will live as I have now fed it mysis shrimp 4 times in 2 days and now the sweeper tentacles come out as seen in the previous picture.

Can you explain how to differentiate balanophyllia from rhyzotrochus? It would be greatly appreciated.

Rhyzotrochus grow to about 3 inches in width and are usually solitary, I think. Balanophylia are similiar to dendrophylia but are oval instead of round each head usually is about 1/2 inch to 3/4. I have boyth in my 72 gallon I will post pictures later.

Had a blueberry gorgonian myself, it was growing but I kept loosing polyps, a few each day. I found blue leg hermits ripping it apart. I thought I got all the crabs out, but there was always one more nocturnal @#)$(* when I looked at night after noticing more losses. Could have sworn I only put 6 in the tank in the first place... pulled twice that out.

No crabs now but lost the gorgonian. Just FYI, watch out. I think I saw a fish slurp them up too. They maybe are not delicate so much as delicious.
