Ricordea and LEDs Experiences

I've only had LEDs and had 1 turn into 25 or 30. I've heard people say they turn orange but I have 4 different colored ones and they all kept their color.

I killed all my recordia and Yuma under LED. Now that I switch back to T5, I will give them a try again.

I have about 50 or so assorted ricordeas in different places of the tank run kessils and no issues at all and all retained there colors

When I was using a fixture with 90 degree optics, my rics stayed contracted unless they were under full shade. They expand nicely under a similar fixture with no optics.

I melted a few of my rics under leds . Had to acclimate them much slower than other coral. Started them in the shade under a ledge slowly moved them out.

I've had ric's under T5's and for the past year under LED's. The colour of the ric's under my LEDS is terrific. They are healthy and doing well. I turned my LED's down to 35 percent and will gradually increase my white light. They have better colour than under T-5's, I feed my tank twice a week with reef roids.

My Ricordea colors are a little dull under my LEDs right now. I'm working on finding the right lighting color combination to get the best color out of them. I currently run my reef breeder's LEDs at 25 percent for both the blue and yellow lights. If I go much lower they start to brown, if I go higher they begin to look a little bleached and stay very contracted. I'm still working on getting that sweet spot with my coloration.

Rics have been doing very well under DIY 'Full Spectrum' LEDs for a couple years. Color, size and growth are all good. I've been ramping up the intensity to accommodate a few Acros, and some of the Rics are receiving 230+ PAR for 6 hours without issues:

They do great as long as you don't have your white LED's turned up too high, that's what tends to burn them out. I keep my whites on at about 30%, blues at 100%, looks awesome and they grow like crazy :)

Mine (Yuma and Florida) have been doing well under an AI Nano for a while now.. I agree with the white's comment from organism.

on my last tank I had 2 led lights ,each one was 150w so had 300w on all the time with the height from water to lights was 25cm.....each light bank had 30 leds at 1watt each, so there was 90watt white and 60watt blue per each light
worked well and morphs multiplied
had green, blue, orange and red and all colours were bright
