Ricordea water flow?

What is the water flow need for good ricordea growth? I have been researching but am receiving conflicting answers.

The lower the current the larger they will open. Anything but direct high current is okay also lighting will make a difference in size as well.

Really depends on what type you are talking about...Florida ricordea can handle and do very well under med flow, while Yumas will stay small and possibly not open at all under med/high flow.....I have a bunch of Ricordea Florida that are in med/high flow and are doing great and opening very well but it is not direct flow, but bouncing off the glass and back at them in an intermittent pattern due to a natural wave timer....

mine really seem to like random flow, just enough to ruffle them a bit where you can see them move a little, then a short period of calmer flow. I put a hydor-flow on a maxijet to create this.

It kind of depends on what kind of flow. High veloocity flow they dont appreciate. I dont keep many rics but what I do stillkeep are fine and I have them in a BB tank with high flow. I dont think that turnover rate is a very good way to measure flow, but for conversation purposes im about 65x. Most would consider that high flow. They open and thrive just fine yumas and floridas alike
